What is this registry?

Effective Child Therapy is an initiative of the Society of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology (SCCAP). The site was originally developed in partnership between SCCAP and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT) and aims to provide parents and other caregivers with easy-to-access, comprehensive information on the symptoms and treatments of behavioral and mental health problems in children and adolescents. Developed to educate the public and professionals about mental health treatments that are backed by the strongest scientific support and are most likely to work. Information provided on the EffectChildTherapy.org website comes from articles published in both the Journal of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology and Evidence-based Practice in Child and Adolescent Mental Health. Evidence-based updates that include information about the latest research are periodically published in these journals.

The website is not meant to replace the advice of a mental health professional nor serve as a substitute for mental health treatment. Do not use this information to self-diagnose or self-treat.
